HUMAN NATURE?

Humans are another cause of wildfires. Humans cause about 60% of all national park fires. This is because they don’t properly dispose of camp fires. 8 out of 10, or 84%, of all forest fires are caused by humans. Because of such wildfires, the fire season is extended, and these fires are created where nature wouldn’t normal have a fire. In these areas, intense winds can push fires as far as 400 feet.

LIGHTNING

Wildfires can be started by many things. Lightning strikes can strike a fire on contact with anything that is dry. Beetles that borrow into trees cause the sap flow to be backed up which cause the tree to die. With one hit from a lightning strike the tree can explode and cause a fire to appear. Places that have prolonged periods of drought can have thousands of dead trees and other vegetation.
