HOUSING IN A FIRE ZONE

When searching for a home in a new area away from the city, many people go to the country where they are surrounded by nature, pollution free air, and can be isolated from others. Many fire zones offer this luxury that can compensate for the potential of a fire. Those who find their homes in such fire zones are entitled to disclosure laws. “Realty Disclosure laws that require realtors to disclose whether or not a property is in a fire, flood, wild land, or earthquake zone prior to closing,” (Blanton). People looking at these homes should look for fire resistant roofs, siding, and floors, and a pool. Not only can these things help lower the insurance of the home, but they can protect is as well.
